Shelby - Birth + Postpartum Doula

During the birth of my son in January of 2020, I was traumatized by the cascade of intervention my provider insisted on which led to my c-section and difficult recovery period. This narrative is all too common in the US. Like many new mothers, I was left with anxiety, depression, rage, fear, and felt totally lost. I wish that I had someone with the tools to recognize that my experience wasn’t typical and I didn’t have to suffer as long as I did. I now know how common these feelings can be in the first year postpartum and I have become the doula that I needed. I have the tools, experience and the heart to recognize what a new mom needs, and I feel so privileged to provide that for you.

I am almost two years into this work and I’ve found a deep passion in postpartum work, attending births and preparing families.
