April Eubanks

Postpartum Doula

(858) 414-5274

Bio

April has been surrounded by big families, pregnant women, and babies for most of her life, as she grew up in a large extended family. She has spent the last 8 years raising three children of her own and she has personally experienced and understands the beauty and challenges that accompany the postpartum journey. She believes that when a family brings in a new life and they receive the proper support, the baby thrives, relationships thrive, community thrives, and our planet thrives.

April received her Postpartum Doula Training with DONA International. She has taken Child Development courses at San Diego Community College for over 6 years and received her training in Lactation and Infant Feeding from Honeybee Haven. She also has specific knowledge from training and experience in helping transition older siblings into their new role. She will screen for perinatal mental health disorders and can provide appropriate resources as needed. April’s previous work in AmeriCorps also had a deep focus on compassion and service as she spent five years helping rural southern towns make a positive impact through community service projects. She has a psychology degree and a minor in women’s studies.

April aims to provide resources and strategies that will help tap into the inner wisdom you already possess. Her overall goal is to educate and empower and to leave you feeling stronger and more confident. As a doula, April offers non-judgmental support and will listen with an open heart.

  • "April gave us so much help taking care of our newborn and teaching us how to take care of him. She is knowledgeable, loving, knows exactly how to handle babies, and is a generally nice person to get along with. She made our lives so much less stressful in the early months. Thank you!!"

  • "She exceeded my expectations. I was able to get way more sleep, maintain breastfeeding, have healthy meals prepared for my own nourishment, and improved mental health."
